Two-for-One Stock Split

aapl
Check Out: Two-for-One Stock Split
If you own one share of Apple stock the board will split the price and give you two. Sometimes stock splits drive up the stock price as the stock appears to be more affordable. Most sites state stock splits benefit stockholders by creating a wider distribution for the common stock and making it easier to market. Makes sense to some degree, but nowadays online brokers charge per transaction and not per stock or for a value of a stock. So whether you buy 10 shares of a $50 stock or one share of a $500 stock you're going to get hit with the same $9.95 fee. However if you only have $200 to spend on stock you could buy your shares instead of having to wait another month or two.

Check Out: SFBags - WaterField Designs
My favorite laptop bag ever. I have two. One for my Powerbook 15' and one for my iBook 12'. The bags fit the laptops perfectly and if you order a combo you get a padded sleeve and gear bag. I use the gear bag for cables or my iPod. The service at SFBags is great too.
Cavernous main compartment. Cool aluminum aircraft buckle. Tons of oversized pockets. Highly organized. One-handed access to everything. Includes non-slip Shoulder Pad. The biggest, boldest bag we make. Flaps come in eye-catching Indium or distinctive leather.

Seriously No iPod Sirius

After reading a lot of news and opinions on the matter it seems that some people are disappointed that Apple hasn't done a deal with Sirius to bring satellite radio on an upcoming iPod. I'm glad that we don't have it because my experience with Sirius was bad. I had a home & car unit and the unit did not work well. If Sirius wants to get in the game they should build an iPod add-on similar in size and function to the FM transmitters that are out.   sirius-satellite-radio-ipod
The user interface was horrible and the signal strenght of the antenna was lacking. Even when I had a good signal the audio quality was bad. I was kind of disappointed since I had been looking forward to all the channels. It reminded me of all the FM transmitters for the iPod. Great idea, but poor quality.

I'd like to see how it would be integrated. The display for the radio channnels might be a lot like the interface of a playlist or the internet radio feature in itunes. However features I'd rather see on an iPod more than satellite radio...

  • BlueTooth
  • Wifi
  • Telephone
  • PDA keyboard for notes, calendar and address book entry (and phone dialing...)

Check Out: Digital Lifestyle Outfitters
After I sent back the Sirrius satellite radio I bought (it sucked) I was wondering what I should get. For about the same amount of money I bought a iBoom and a iBoom bag. When it arrives (was back ordered) I'll let you know how works out.

Duct Tape Apple iPod Cover

File this under the now I have seen everything for the iPod... someone is selling a duct tape iPod cover on eBay.

My cousin and I live next door to one another. He has two grade school aged girls. This week they were excited because their school has loads of free duck tape and they were making things out of it for everyone they know. I asked them to make me a cover for my Ipod and if it was any good, we would put it on ebay and see if anyone would pay money for it.

PodBrix? What is all this stuff really?

Check Out: PodBrix.com   What is PodBrix?

Tomi Responds:
PodBrix sells modified minifigs inspired by the popular ad campaign for portable music players. In the future we may branch out to other related minifigs.

How are the PodBrix minifigs created?

Tomi Responds:
I start with a Lego brand minifig and modify it by hand to create the desired appearance. Each one is slightly different.

I see only one minifig available for sale on the site. Are there others?

Tomi Responds:
At this time I am producing a limited edition run (300 units) of the "1K Brix" minifig. Lego minifigs are hard to come by in large quantities and I don't want to commit to more at this time. When the "1K Brix" have sold out, I will design another different figure. Join the mailing list to be updated when we release a new product.
